Syracuse University Lyman Hall Main Entry Stairway Restoration,
Syracuse, New York
The Lyman Hall Main Entry Stairway Restoration project is part of an ongoing restoration effort for a treasured Syracuse University building which dates to 1907. Signs of displacement in the stairway over recent years prompted an investigation into its condition. The KHH Landscape Architecture Division conducted an investigation which concluded that the existing foundation was failing, which jeopardized the integrity of this elaborate building entrance. A restoration project to rebuild the stairway overcame a number of challenges to maintain a functional entrance which matched the original in aesthetic appeal and architectural character.
